I'm always jolted when my computer suddenly starts playing music. Personally, I find it rude and imposing to force your elevator music on me. And is it really a calculated part of your marketing strategy? Is that tune convincing your visitors to use your services? Or at least stay on your page for a bit?

Personally, if I can't find a control to turn the music off immediately, I close the page, no matter what the site was.

At the very least, there should be an easy-to-locate (i.e. not tiny and in the bottom left hand corner) control whereby the visitor can adjust the volume or start/stop the sound alltogether. Please make it big and noticeable; it seems to always be hidden enough that I can't find it before my 15-second capacity for bad internet music has run out. But you only need a couple icons, nothing that will take up a lot of space.
